External monitor displays no input after Air M1 wakes up from sleep

I bought this Air M1 last November and my external monitor is BenQ GW2480. When I wake up the M1, the GW2480 shows up the log in screen for a second and then becomes dark. In a few seconds, it shows "no input detected". But if I open the Display option on the M1 and use the gather windows to call up the display option of the GW2480 and change its refresh rate from 60 to 50, the GW2480 will display correctly. Then when the M1 sleeps and wakes up next time, the GW2480 still repeat the process. I can change its refresh rate back to 60 again, the GW2480 can display correctly. It is troublesome to do the change every time waking up the M1. Can someone help me on solving this issue? Thanks

Hi there yingkai914,

We understand you have to change the refresh rate in settings each time you wake your Mac from sleep, before you're able to use your externally attached monitor as expected.

Based on what you're encountering, we believe the steps outlined on the following page may offer a solution: If your external display isn't detected or appears blurry on your Mac

We hope this helps!

Thanks for getting back to us yingkai914,

We understand the issue in the above linked article doesn't match what you're experiencing exactly, however the steps from that resource are helpful in troubleshooting varying display connectivity issues. Were you able to give those steps a try?

If there's no change, it may be necessary to work with the manufacturer of the display, who might have knowledge of features of the monitor, or steps specific to the device that may help. First, contact Apple Support to see how they can assist.

Cheers!

Thank you for your reply but that answer does not apply to my situation.

My situation, like I described in my question, is that the external monitor can correctly shows the log in page when the Air M1 is called up from sleep. But the external display just stays for about 1 second and then become dark and then shows the no input detect message. Also when I change the refresh rate for the external monitor it then displays correctly. So I believe the physical connection is there, it is the dialog between the M1 and the external monitor is lost somehow during the waking up process. Hope some one can help me here. Thanks
