Been waiting for Foundation for a while. Now it's out, yay! The cover of the show says it's in 4k, but the first frames are quite evident that it's horribly pixelated and compressed to the point when artifacts make it impossible to watch. I'm on a gigabit internet, so it's not the connection issue. Besides, other shows stream just perfect. Is this a bandwidth of a server or is this an anti-piracy thing?
I think I solved the mystery. Right after posting, I tried it on ipad and it looked perfect, then I tried to disconnect the external monitor and on my mbp screen it looked perfect as well. Then I connected a monitor again and it worked that time. It seems like HDCP failed the first time and the stream quality got downgraded to some level that's considered to be safe to send unprotected. So the solution is to reconnect the monitor (or TV) and try again.
I am having the same problem, however my netflix and other streaming services are not impacted by poor quality.
Hello youroff and welcome to Apple Support Communities. It appears you are having some difficulty with video quality on a specific piece of Apple TV+ content.
Checking on this end, it looks great. This is more than likely a server bandwidth issue that should clear up if you try it again at a later time.
