MacBook Air M1 copying text from PDF

Does anyone have an issue copying text from a PDF and pasting it?

If the text is a paragraph it pastes fine. But if I copy something with bullet points it pastes without any spaces between the words, it is so inefficient adding a space between each word manually :-(

I can’t see anything about this issue so have no idea why it is happening. Can anyone help???

I was trying to copy a link from a PDF and came across the same issue. I was able to copy text from the PDF if I opened it with non-Apple software (Chrome, Affinity Designer, etc.). Seems the problem (for me, anyway) only exists in Preview and Safari.

A year into M1 and even Google makes better software for these things than Apple does!
