Here is the complete scope of what i would like to do
I have 50 + gigs of music on my PC and I need to transfer them to my MAC so i can populate my iphone with music i want using itunes
I would like to upload my PC music on a hard drive and then plug it into my MAC so i don't have to use the internal memory.
Question 1: Can you upload an external hard drive with music and plug it into a mac

To import your music files, you'll want to follow the steps outlined here: Import music from a computer to Music on Mac
You should also be able to put the music on an external drive and connect it to a Mac to access as you'd mentioned as well.

Wow thank you for the reply so this is a question that I had for very long time if I take a brand new hard drive and plug it into my PC and download all my MP3 file to the new external hard drive can I unplug the hard drive from my PC and plug it into a Mac ?
