How is the Apple/T-mobile trade in deal working, where will the credits be applied is it going to be applied to T-Mobile or too the finance company that I am using to pay off my phone?

For a limited time, when you buy your new iPhone from Apple and trade in an iPhone X or newer, you’ll receive additional bill credits from T‑Mobile/Sprint — on top of your Apple trade-in credit. Get a $500 bill credit from T‑Mobile/Sprint when you keep or switch to the Magenta Max plan, or a $200 bill credit if you stay with another plan.
