I had an iPhone X and realized that my messages app would freeze after I used FaceTime. It happened almost every time and would take several minutes or even hours to come back. Restarting the phone and force quitting didn’t work. I figured it was just part of having an older phone but I just upgraded to a brand new phone and am having the same issue. Any advice would be appreciated for a permanent fix.

Thank you! I can open the messages app but then the screen is either white or it’s frozen on what was last open and doesn’t respond to touch. I don’t receive messages but they all come through with correct time stamps when it unfreezes. I haven’t noticed it happening with any other apps yet. Thanks for your help!
