Why does Big Sur Disk Utility show my Mac HD as split into data disk?
Does anyone know why Disk Utility shows my main HD as split into separate discs. See attached screenshots. Do I need to fix this, or is it normal?
iMac 27″, macOS 11.6

This is the new normal.

Big Sur uses a “snapshot” of the current system for its (SSV) Signed System Volume, as you see in the list. This is the new normal as well. This would be the 'Macintosh HD'

Thanks, it's a relief to know that nothing needs to fixed.
