How do I create a formula to subtract in Numbers

I know this has been answered before but the reply refers to concepts I'm not familiar with (minuend and subtrahend) and I can't find anywhere in Numbers that this is addressed. I just want cell E5 to be the difference between B5 and C5

Hi Mavido,

Formula: What SGII has described above should solve your issue.

Coming to terms:

'minuend':     The value from which something is being subtracted.     (B5)

'subtrahend': The value that is being subtracted from the subtrahend.  (C5)

'difference' The result of the subtraction.                                                   (E5)

Barry
