Sarari ver 15 is extremely slow and won't load websites

Since installing Safari version 15 I have experienced multiple issues. Websites either won't load or freeze once loaded. The address bar area changes color sometimes depending on the website. The worst issue is that websites freeze and become unresponsive. I tried clearing the cache, clearing history deleting cookies. Nothing seems to work. Is this a common problem?
