Safari v15 Crashing on Big Sur v11.6

Safari v15 is un-openable.

I'm booting BY 2019 fusion drive iMac from a 1 tb external SSD.

I hope you may be able to help.

Safari keeps freezing on launch & I can't access preferences to clear cache Hi, I'm on Mac OS 10.15 and having trouble w/ Safari crashing/freezing immediately on launch w/ over a dozen windows opening immediately. Fyi, I had too many windows open at the time my Mac first crashed and so there is a continuous loop of the windows opening immediately after I've *Force Quit*. Since Safari is "frozen" (just the spinning wheel), I'm unable to go into the app to change things within Preferences. So, I did the following but nothing changed: --Clearing via reboot --Reinstalling the Safari app --Going into ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/ and manually clearing from folder --Running malwarebytes to see if anything was infected from withing the browser. (It wasn't.) What else can I do? I look forward to some suggestions. Thanks, EC Moran

Safari crashing on M1 iMac after updating to Monterey I've updated to Monterey and Safari is unusable -- it crashes on launch, even in safe mode. I have reinstalled the OS, and the problem persists. I've been advised to either roll back to Big Sur or wait for an OS update. Does anyone here have a different solution? Thanks! -- Lou

There have recently been many reports of a broad range of new problems on this support site about the latest release of Safari v15. It is included in the downloads for Big Sur and Catalina. If you are experiencing these problems, you can use another browser such as Firefox or Chrome and they will work for you until a newer version of Safari is released.
