I want to update my iphone software using cellular data

You must have WiFi in order to update your iOS.

The only exception would be if you have an iPhone 12 or above, where you are able to update your device if you have an active 5G connection.

If you don't have WiFi, you are able to go to an Apple Store and use their WiFi.
