Yeah, I tried lots of possible solutions. None worked. I wanted to avoid clearing my Recent Calls list, but from what I was reading in a number of places, that would be the real solution. I called Verizon. They claimed there was some setup problem with my SIM and they got it fixed, but that did not fix the issue. So what I did was just delete each entry in the Recent Calls list that was for the person I was trying to call. Voila! I could call the person without the error. (I'm still not sure what would happen if you let it call with the "remaining line.") Anyway, that proved to me that clearing the list is the solution and I'll either do that or use the "one at a time" approach. Just wanted to mention that so others would know this optional solution.
Just went through this. No need to delete Recent Calls List!

You need to select the default line to use. I believe you can do that from settings or by clicking on an entry in the "Recent" and you should see an option under the phone number.
I have never had this happened before until I switched to T-Mobile. I’m using an iPhone 11. I just tried the clear recent suggestion. Hopefully it fixes the problem.
Thanks for this link! Resetting my recent list didn't work. Neither did restarting my phone. However, turning airplane mode on and off did the trick!
I feel you. Just moved from a 6s to 12 mini and I'm sad. So many things aren't fuctioning the same and I'm continually researching to figure it out. It shouldn't be this hard or annoying.
I just got a 13 Pro and am seeing this error for the first time. I am not using my recent calls, I'm in contacts. Is there a fix for that?

Is there anyway to get the physical sim back or do I have to remain unsung this Esim that came in my upgrade phone (13 Pro max) I inserted the physical sim back in the phone and it has no service
As above, you will have to contact your cellular carrier to get this resolved.
Dogcow - In which post above did someone say their cellular carrier resolved this problem? In the post right above yours, they said their cellular carrier tried but did not resolve the problem.
Note my post was in response to a different issue, not the “last line no longer available” problem.
Clearing current recents is a temporary fix. It happens again after a number of recents build up. Is there a permanent fix to that annoying message?
