2 factor security

I don't want to use the 2 password code as I am on and off my phone many many times per day. However my new phone and my older computer are demanding that in order to fully use the systems I must have the 2 factor. How can I avoid this?

Two-factor authentication is enabled by default on new Apple IDs and cannot be turned off.

If you have an old account and recently activated Two Factor Authentication note this section of an Apple support article:

"Two-factor authentication for Apple ID" - https://support.apple.com/HT204915

-->

"Can I turn off two-factor authentication after I’ve turned it on?

... If you recently updated your account, you can unenroll within two weeks of enrollment. Just open your enrollment confirmation email and click the link to return to your previous security settings ..."

I think your data is worth the security provided, and I certainly don’t want to see you go through the hassles that we see around here with Apple ID breaches whether due to phishing or password re-use or otherwise. But that’s your call.

I see a two-factor authentication prompt rarely, and usually only when adding or removing a device, or when using a new path to log into Apple or to make Apple ID-level changes such as iCloud access. The two-factor prompts are pretty rare.

As far as your choice here, you do not have one, if you want to enable those features. You enable two-factor authentication. Or do without, of course. Or migrate, though two-factor or better is becoming ubiquitous across all platforms.
