Restore previous notes

I had selected the text of a Note and overwrote it by accidentally typing additional, incorrect text. And before I could shake to undo, I had accidentally backed out of the Note. Once I went back into the Note, it was too late to restore the original text. Is there a solution to restoring a previous version of that same Note? Thanks.

Hi suchankim,

We understand you're trying to recover a note that you accidentally edited and removed. We're happy to help.

If you have a recent backup of your device that was done when the note was still there, you can restore that to bring the note back. You can use these steps to check for available backups: Locate backups of your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

If you do have a backup that was done when the note was still on the device, you can use these steps to restore it: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup

Keep in mind, when you restore a backup, it is going to restore your device back to the way it was at that exact time. So say for example, your last backup was yesterday at 9:00 am. Anything that was added to the phone from that time until now will be removed when you restore the backup. (messages, pictures, applications, etc.) If there is anything that was added after the time of that last backup that you need, you'll want to make sure to save it somewhere first before restoring the backup.

If you do not have a recent backup that was done when the note was still on the device, there wouldn't be a way to bring it back automatically. In that case, you would have to manually create the note again.

We hope this helps. Cheers!
