apple watch stuck on restore screen

my Apple Watch started an update, but now its showing me a screen with a red circle and exclamation point that tells me to go to support.apple.com/watch/restore. every time I go to this website it takes me to something different, and I don't know how to fix it because no matter what the screen won't go away. I've tried force restarting it, I've tried unpairing it, I've tried erasing it on my phone, and nothing works.
