Email Problem

There are no emails displaying in my folders in Hotmail. The inbox, sent, junk and bin are all showing emails but the other folders appear empty. This happened after I deleted and reinstalled the account on the iPad. I had to do this because of a problem I had with receiving emails on my mobile.

Has anyone an idea how to fix this problem? I have already deleted and reinstalled again and also switched the iPad off and on again.

In common with many other Mail providers, Microsoft/Hotmail now use App Specific Passwords to access IMAP or POP3 mailboxes.


The Mail App on each of your devices, such as your iPad, requires a unique password to be generated from within your Microsoft account. This App Specific password intentionally differs from your Microsoft/Hotmail account password - and can only be used to access your Mail.
