How to upgrade iPhone 12 Pro Max storage?

I was wondering if you have an apple iPhone 12 Pro Max 256gb but would like to turn in that phone and get the upgraded gb to 512gb, how does that work ?

You would be able to trade in your device at https://www.apple.com/uk/shop/trade-in and then you are able to put these funds towards buying a different model.
