I'm trying to identify the IP address on my iPod nano on my router. Can somebody advise.
Yes. The iPod nano is self-contained and does not have any networking at all. When it is plugged into your computer, your computer and the iTunes app will be responsible for internet communication involved for functions such as updating the iPod's OS and downloading new music from the iTunes Store. Your computer's IP address will be used for this.
Thanks for your reply. So, what your saying is it’s self contained and the only time it communicates with the cloud is when it’s plugged in to your computer.

Hello. The iPod nano does not support networking and therefore cannot not have an IP address.
If you instead have an iPod that supports networking, such as an iPod Touch, you can find your IP address by going to Settings > Wi-Fi and clicking the circle with an "i" in it next to your wireless network name. Your IP address will be listed below.
