Safari problem: Can't access online bank account from Safari on mac, can access account from iPad and phone

When I try to log into my online bank account, get an error message from site. I can log into account from my iPad and iPhone using same id and password and it functions fine. I have deleted app and started over, I have tried to access account using google chrome. Same problem. At one point I got a weird email that was obviously phishing, is it possible Safari is protecting me from this? One hour with bank's computer rep could not solve the problem. Any suggestions?

Did this begin after a recent update or upgrade? If so, the following will be useful to know. There have recently been many reports of a broad range of new problems on this support site about the latest release of Safari v15. It is included in the downloads for Big Sur and Catalina. If you are experiencing these problems, you can use another browser such as Firefox or Chrome and they will work for you until a newer version of Safari is released.
