"vpnagent" will damage your computer pop up - HOw do I remove it?

Hi!

My son has been using my private laptop and I haven't paid attention when he has been playing games and seems he has downloaded something. Now there is annoying pop up with the text ""vpnagent" will damage your computer".

As I understand it's Cisco AnyConnect so I have tried to uninstall it, but it does not allow me to do so.

Should I move it to trash and empty it?

Or remove it via EtreCheckPro (Cisco says: Exact match found in the legitimate list - probably OK)?

Or something completely else?

So in need of help how to get rid of this popup.

Any help is super much appreciated.

Many thanks!

I'm not tech support but I got similar messages (ReceiverHelper and two other files will damage your computer). This was directly after an Apple software update.

The pop-up showed the buttons for "Ok" and "Show in Finder". I found some rather laborious instructions online so took the lazy route, and clicked on Show in Finder, moved them to Trash, emptied Trash then rebooted. So far so good. The pop-ups are no longer occurring and so far browser, email, and two third-party applications I use are working properly.

Admittedly, this was about 15 minutes ago so I do not know if I just shot myself in the foot with future problems, but so far so good.
