Were you able to try a 'reset of system management controller' with your Mac?

Depending on the 'hardware build year' of your MacBook Pro, may require additional

steps or attempts to make sense of the instructions; there are different ones here.

• How to reset the SMC of your Mac - Apple Support

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295

An earlier post (maybe removed; happens on occasion) appears to have

been linked: Related Article: "Get help with your Mac notebook battery"

As that article refers to and has effect on Mac's battery ability to charge.

• The "System Management Controller" is responsible for managing behaviors related to these features:

  • Power, including the power button and power to the USB ports
  • Battery and charging
  • Fans and other thermal-management features
  • Indicators or sensors such as status indicator lights (sleep status,
  • battery charging status, and others), the sudden motion sensor,

the ambient light sensor, and keyboard backlighting

  • Behavior when opening and closing the lid of a notebook computer

Resetting the SMC doesn't affect the contents of NVRAM or PRAM.

[Among resets, NVRAM may indirectly help symptoms your Mac has.]

Your Mac may need to be assessed by an AASP or Apple service. IF

you need that, hopefully you've made use of Time Machine backups.

Both the Mac and power adapter may need inspection/testing.

Good luck & happy trails!🌤🌻🏠🌿🐢
