Problems with zoom function and face mask unlock iOS 15

Hi, I'm experiencing issues since upgrading to iOS 15 on my iPhone X with the pinch zoom function - it just freezes or won't shrink back after zooming in. This is happening across different apps including Safari, Mail and Google Maps. My wife has noticed this issue too on her iPhone XR.

Google Maps completely locked up on me this morning after zooming in. The software totally froze and i couldn't close the app or even hold down the side buttons to reboot it. The phone eventually rebooted itself after a few minutes.

Also I've been noticing my Watch has been randomly opening my phone using face mask mode without me holding the phone up to my face.

Is anyone else experiencing these issues?
