I can't turn on Find My Mac. It says "Setting up..." on iCloud then nothing happens.

Hi there,

I just got a new Macbook Air M1 2020.

I'm trying to turn on Find My Mac. Location services are on, and I now would want to turn it on in System Preferences > Apple ID > iCloud > Find My Mac.

When I check it and allow, it loads at "Setting up..." and just gets back to being unchecked. See GIF.

Hope somebody can help! Would really like to activate is as I'm travelling a lot and am such a klutz. :)

Hey theasilly,

It looks like you're having an issue enabling Find My Mac. We can understand wanting to get that resolved. We want to help.

First, we'd recommend restarting your Mac to see if that helps: Log out, sleep, wake, restart, or shut down your Mac

We'd also suggest connecting to a different internet connection to see if that changes anything.

If that doesn't help, we'd suggest testing to see if the same issue occurs in safe mode. This article explains how to start to safe mode: How to use safe mode on your Mac

Thanks!
