Hi Windows11bootcamp,

I wish Windows 11 was supported on Boot Camp, but one of the requirements that Microsoft set for Windows 11 compatibility is that the PC must have a Trusted Platform Module (TPM).

No Mac has a TPM (except for obsolete hardware in 2006); instead, your Mac has the T2 Security Chip (which IMO is better than a TPM). Unfortunately, Windows 11 will not accept the T2 Security Chip as a TPM since it functions differently.

Short answer: officially, no. Unofficially, maybe.

If you're running Windows natively (Boot Camp), you cannot enable the TPM. This is because Macs don't have a TPM.

If you're running Windows in Parallels Desktop, you might be able to enable a virtual TPM. Parallels Desktop creates and manages the virtual TPM for you.

  • Parallels Desktop 15 and 16 only let you use a virtual TPM if you're using the Pro or Business subscription, and only for Intel-based Macs.

  • Parallels Desktop 17 or later lets you use a virtual TPM on any Mac, with any subscription or one-time purchase.
