What is the latest OS I can install on my late 2011 MacBook Pro? I currently have Sierra 10.12.6, but can't currently access many apps like iMovie etc on the version !

The highest macOS version for your computer is 10.13 "High Sierra."

How to get old versions of macOS - Apple Support


Be sure to use Safari for any macOS downloads. Firefox is not working properly with them.


If you get a "file damaged" error, that Simply means an older, outdated version of the installer is already in your Applications folder. Delete the old one and then start the upgrade again.
