my ios 15 facetime audio doesn’t work, i can’t hear the person i’m on facetime with.

I am Deaf in one ear and I was having the same issue. My settings in accessibility were "Mono Audio" toggled On and "Balance" set all the way to the Right.

I found that choosing mono audio was fine but if the balance was set all the way to the Right, when I received a FaceTime call, it would not play sound. All the way to the Left and in the middle were fine.

Not really helpful as it is not that friends cannot her her - she cannot hear them. Speaker related rather than microphone related

Mine was the same because I only have my right AirPod and it was being strange. I changed it and it started working again. Thanks for your help! You saved me a mental breakdown haha.

My daughter has the same problem. Works fine on her iPad but has iPhone 13 mini and did the software upgrade and this has caused the audio problem. Her friends can hear her but she cannot hear them. The issue cannot be related to her microphone setting… what are settings for the speakers… we’ve tried the audio playing on the iPhone and also Bluetooth headphones - both not working
