To Delete a file you own - Drag and Drop the file to the Trash Bin Icon on the end of the Disk. The file will reside in the Trash Bin until you decide to Empty the Trash Bin.

To empty the Trash Bin -- On the keyboard use " Control " key and click the Trash Bin Icon. Another sub-menu will appear with actions that can be performed including Empty the Trash Bin.
