How can I disable the need to use touch to open IPad?

You can selectively disable TouchID functions here:


Settings > TouchID & Passcode > [Use Touch ID For]

  • iPad Unlock - set to OFF
  • iTunes & App Store - set to OFF
  • ApplePay - set to OFF
  • Password AutoFill - set to OFF


You can also globally disable TouchID by deleting your Fingerprint(s):

Settings > TouchID & Passcode > [Fingerprints] - tap on the entry, then select Delete Fingerprint
