Message Alerts

I receive messages but no alerts on my iPhone 11 Pro with iOS 14.8

It is not in silent mode on the orange side button.

ios 16.1.1 not allowing text messages alerts After updating my iPhone 12 to iOS 16.1.1 I no longer get notification alerts for my text messages. The text message comes through and the notification shows on screen, but no tone is heard. I have enabled the correct buttons under notifications and the volume is okay. I can manually sound the tone, so it not that. Anyone else having this problem?

iPhone settings There is no "notification announcement" function on my iPhone, nor in siri settings, nor in notification settings, what's the problem? iPhone with US code, Iphone 11, IOS 16.2

No notification sound/alert for Messages Running IOS 16.2 here on iPhone 14 Plus. If the screen is off, I am not getting any messages notification sounds/alerts. The messages do show up in notification center and lock screen but with my screen off, I have missed a ton of SMS and iMessage ones because my phone did not ring and also my Apple Watch did not notify me, so same behaviour on Apple Watch. I did file a report on bug report but curious if anyone has had this. I remember on the previous iOS 16 there were no issues like this.

We understand you're not receiving notifications for Messages. To start, we'd recommend checking the settings as listed in the following article:
