I am trying to figure out how to get into my deceased husband’s iPad, I got the sign in code unlocked, but have no idea what is password is for his Apple ID. I need help with this.

If you have access to the email account associated with his Apple ID, enter the Apple (iCloud) ID, and click Forgot Password. See if you can get a Rescue or Notification email option if necessary. Link to contact Apple Support at the end of the 2nd article.
If necessary, if he is the original owner, contact Apple. Apple can remove the ID if provided the required paperwork to include the original purchase receipt with the serial number on it.
