How to turn off Gmail Notifications on Apple Watch

Within the last few days, I've started receiving Gmail notifications on my Apple Watch. Gmail is not currently installed, or even an option to install, on my watch. I've turn the watch on and off, toggled various notification settings, but am still getting Gmail notifications. I am already doing custom notification settings, but there isn't anywhere to deselect/remove Gmail. Any thoughts? I think this started happening after I upgrade to the iPhone 13 Pro and iOS 15.

Hey! I figured it out! When you get the email notification on your Apple Watch, swipe left and you’ll see 3 dots. If you click that and scroll all the way down you’ll see the option to Turn Off. Hope that helps.

you guys need to turn on the banners in your app setting in phone first, then the Gmail app icon will show in watch notification center and will be able to toggle off/on

first, go to phone setting find Gmail app --- Notification ---- enabled Banners option, once you do that go the watch app and click on notification then you will be able to see the Gamil app

Hi wmmillward,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you're having an issue with notifications on your Apple Watch. We'd like to know more to assist.

Is the notification from the Mail app or do you see the Google icon when receiving this type of notification? If it's the mail app icon, check out the steps here to see if you have the account added to your Mail settings and find steps on how to change it: Manage mail on Apple Watch

If you don't see the account listed yet the icon shows the Google "G" check to see if the notifications are coming from the Google app or Chrome. If needed, the guide here can help you check your iPhone settings for notifications: View and respond to notifications on iPhone You can also find helpful information here: Notifications on your Apple Watch

Cheers!

I was having this issue too. I’ve never had notifications on but once I update watchOS they started. I removed the Gmail app, did a reboot of my phone and reinstalled Gmail. So far I haven’t seen a notification on my watch. Just the badge icons and sounds on my phone like before. 🤞🏻 iPhone 12 Pro Max/iOS 15 & watch series 6/watchOS 8.
