How to turn off Gmail Notifications on Apple Watch

Hey! I figured it out! When you get the email notification on your Apple Watch, swipe left and you’ll see 3 dots. If you click that and scroll all the way down you’ll see the option to Turn Off. Hope that helps.

you guys need to turn on the banners in your app setting in phone first, then the Gmail app icon will show in watch notification center and will be able to toggle off/on

first, go to phone setting find Gmail app --- Notification ---- enabled Banners option, once you do that go the watch app and click on notification then you will be able to see the Gamil app

If you don't see the account listed yet the icon shows the Google "G" check to see if the notifications are coming from the Google app or Chrome. I was having this issue too. I’ve never had notifications on but once I update watchOS they started. I removed the Gmail app, did a reboot of my phone and reinstalled Gmail. So far I haven’t seen a notification on my watch. Just the badge icons and sounds on my phone like before. 🤞🏻 iPhone 12 Pro Max/iOS 15 & watch series 6/watchOS 8.

I unpaired my watch with my old phone and paired it with my new phone and still am having the same issue. iPhone 13 Pro Max / Apple Watch Series 6

What's weird is I'm not even getting every email that comes through; seems like every other one or two that I'm getting alerted to.

I've never had Google Mail notifications before on my Apple Watch, but it's been happening for the past week or so (since I updated the OS). I don't even see the Google Mail app on the Watch OS, so there's no way for me to disable the notifications.

I am having the same issue that just started this week after updating both my iPhone 11Pro and Apple Watch. The notifications are coming directly from the GMail app, which is not installed at all on the watch.

Thanks for posting this! I just started receiving unneeded and unwanted Gmail notifications out of the blue. Like you I don't have Gmail installed on my watch. Thus I couldn't figure out how to turn it off.

In the Watch App, you can control what notifications you receive that get cloned from the phone. Thus: you can control what notifications the watch receives, the phone receives, or both, through the Settings App & Watch App combined.

just got an Apple Watch for Christmas. When I swipe left nothing happens. I don’t have three dots. This is driving me crazy.

This is also an issue for me too since the update to watchOS 8.0 / iOS 15.

Well it didn’t last. Not sure why it temporarily worked but this morning notifications started again.

Same issue - Gmail isn't listed anywhere is my Watch app. Watch Series5/WatchOS 8.0.1 Iphone 13Pro/iOS 15.0.2

Same issue. Comes up as a Gmail icon alert. Gmail isn’t installed on my watch or in the watch app. I’ve adjusted the mail setting alert to no change.
