I cannot turn on the device to get my serial number

I cannot get my phone to turn on after connecting my phone to my laptop the apple icon will come on but that is it - I cannot get my serial number

You can use the following instructions. One option is to get the IMEI/MEID from the SIM tray and use that for support instead of the serial number: Find the serial number or IMEI on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
