LG 5K display model 27MD5KL

Just confirming that the new LG 5K display, model Model 27MD5KL-B, can be used with a intel based Mac Mini, current model?

Mac mini 2018 or later

That’s a 5k Thunderbolt monitor which should work well on your Mini’s “up to 6k” Thunderbolt port.

Just use care w/ cable section going forward. (Although LG will likely include a Thunderbolt cable in your box - at least they did w/ my pair of 5k monitors a few years ago)


However, unlike earlier generations of USB, not all USB-C cables are the same. The services which a “USB-C Physical Form Factor” cable can provide vary WIDELY.


All Thunderbolt 3 cables are USB-C, but the reverse is NOT true.
