Airplay and screen mirroring to apple tv

After our trip to the Azores I reviewed our photos using Slideshow and Airplayed to our new Visio and Apple TV setup. This was before the upgrade to iOS 15 and the photos looked great. Then I upgraded the iPad 9.7 to iOS 15 and tried a slideshow for my family - of course the sound worked but no pictures, the screen just went black.. I reviewed the steps in the Apple article, step by step, but still no images. Any hints as to what I should check?

We're see you're having issues with using AirPlay to view your slideshow on the Apple TV. We'd be happy to help out.

Be sure to also check for the tvOS 15 update as well: Update Apple TV software

It can also help to restart both the iPad and the Apple TV as well: Restart Apple TV

Video issues can also be caused by connection problems, so you may wish to additionally try restarting your router/modem, if none of the above helped.

Eric, thanks for the reply. I'll give the "reset all" a try and let you know how it woks out. It's odd the way everything that should happen, does happen: the screen goes dark, the music plays or stops when I hit the run/stop button, just no picture. I'm going to try the bedroom tv to see if it works: same setup, different model tv. Thanks! bob.c

Hi Eric-sorry for taking so long to get back to this issue. I have updated the iPad, iPhone and Apple tv to iOS 15.0.1 and did the reset of the Apple tv device. I try running the slide show from the iPad and still just sound, no picture. However the iPhone 11 runs it perfectly, sound and all. We have three tv's set up with Apple tv boxes and the airplay works on the other two but not the big one in the living room. I'm stymied trying to find the one setting which stops the photos from showing on the screen. Any thoughts?

Eric, one additional fact - Airplay works with myMacBook Pro 7,1 from mid 2010 running OSX 10.13.6. So I'm impressed with this old MBP, not so much with the new iPad.... bob.c
