How to add weather app for background app referesh??

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're not seeing the preinstalled Weather app listed in Background App Refresh on your iPhone. After looking over several different iPhone models running iOS 15, we don't see this is listed in this setting either.

Are you having an issue with the Weather app? If so, what's going on? It might be something we can help you sort out.

I also would like to see the stock weather app as an option in background refresh so I can turn it on. In the current state, I open weather and it shows the temperature as of the last time I opened the app, which is annoying. This seems like the perfect use for this feature.
