Is there a cure for this? No warning, suddenly some sites don't load and this message appears.

If your MacBook Pro can be upgraded to a newer version if macOS, please upgrade.


MacBook Pro mid 2010 and newer can upgrade to at least High Sierra.

If you must operate on El Capitan, these directions (and I don’t have a way to test this) appear likely to resolve the issue with your local certificates on OS X 10.11 and earlier:
