I do not see the option on my iPhone 8 plus to install iOS 14.8. I can only install iOS 15.0.1
Right now the the iPhone is running on iOS 14.4.2
On my other iPhone (Xs) I was able to install iOS 14.8 without any problem.
What can I do to solve this?

What has probably happened is that you installed iOS version 14.8 on your iPhone XS before iOS version 15.0.x was released. By the time you elected to update your iPhone 8, iOS version 15.0.1 was released and therefore your iPhone 8 will move straight to the latest available version. Just my thoughts.

When you installed iOS 15.8 on your iPhone Xs had iOS 15 been released?
No. I installed 14.8 on my Xs the moment it came out. iOS 15 was not out yet at that moment.
