Airdrop Stuck & Photos Unable To Import

Frustrating.

I just recently (a month ago) bought a new iMac to replace my 2012 old iMac.

These are my new iMac specs:

AirDrop issue:

From iPhone X to this iMac, photos transfer using airdrop stuck at 'waiting'. Weirdly, no issue the other way round, from iMac to iPhone.

Photos App issue:

Photos App unable to import photos from iPhone.

– it did function normally before. But now it can't. Selecting only one of the medias from 'Devices' and then clicked "Import 1 Selected', it jumped to 'Import' with nothing happened.

– After experiencing the inability to import, I also checked the (earlier) exported photos' metadata, they're new copies, they're not originals; I have already selected 'keep original' when exporting.

– earlier when it can still function, I faced some lengthy amount of duration exporting a single media to external folder.

– iPhone unable to connect to Photos App using WiFi (can only connect via USB cable)

Objective:

I want to keep my medias (taken using my iPhone) on an external drive.

I want the metadata of the original media to remain intact.

I want to transfer via Wifi.

I want to also transfer files from iPhone to iMac using AirDrop.

I don't want to purchase an external app for such basic tasks.

How can Apple let me down on such functions?

Disappointed.

Note:

I've searched for similar cases (e.g. AirDrop troubleshooting), and tried all recommended solutions. Nothing worked. Photos App solutions as well, nothing worked. Blocked contacts in settings too. Nothing worked.

New update:

I've found out that if I turned off my Firewall, the AirDrop works. However, I need to understand why is it so because I didn't have to face such issue with my older iMac where its Firewall was on but still could AirDrop normally.

Also, toggling all three settings (check and uncheck) in the Firewall options didn't help at all.
