Just updated to 12.5.5 rotation is locked. How do I unlock it how do I unlock rotation .

One more thing we can try and I am out of ideas, now.

Try simply powering down the iPad by holding down the sleep/wake button and use the Slide to Power down screen option.

Plug your iPad into power, then power up your iPad, once again.

If this does not get your screen rotation sidd switch working, this is all I got.

You will need to search online for your nearest, “local” Apple store location and call contact phone numbers and call to make an appointment to have your Apple iPad diagnosed and options presented you.

Failing that,

You need to contact Apple support via the contact support link located at the upper right hand corner of every Webpage of these Apple support communities.

Use the Device Performance support category.

Your iPad’s screen rotation maybe locked.

Toggle OFF screen rotation lock by swiping a finger downward from the upper right corner of the iPad’s screen to reveal the iOS/iPadOS Control Centre.

Look for the button/icon with a white background with a red colored circular arrow with a red padlock symbol inside of the circle.

Tap that icon/button to release the screen rotation lock.

Be advised, many iPhone apps downloaded to an iPad may NOT support screen rotation.

After ANY iOS/iPadOS upgrade/update, you should ALWAYS perform a simple hard reset of your Apple mobile device.

For older iPad models with a Home button, do a simple hard reset of your iPad by holding down both the Home and sleep/wake/power button simultaneously until your iPad goes to black and restarts with Apple logo, then release the buttons.

Then look in Control Centre, again.

That has solved the mystery for me.

I forgot that some older iPad models have the side switch for screen rotation lock/unlock or muting/unmuting of sound.

In the Settings apps, under General make sure the small side switch is set for Lock Rotation.

Then try moving the side switch to unlock rotation.

This symbol is non-existant in the swipe down Control Centre panel.

There is NO circular arrow with a padlock icon in the Control Centre swipe down panel?
