updated iPhone SE and it changed the background color to black

Updated iPhone SE and it changed the background color to black. Difficulty reading with black background. How do I change it back to white?

You may have accidentally set Dark Mode to ON. To turn Dark Mode OFF:

Open Settings ➔ Display & Brightness: Under Appearance, place a checkmark under Light.

Thank you. I discovered that. It did not work but later worked. I hate those updates that change things on your phone.
