How make the screen reader (accessibility feature) work after iOS 15 upgrade (to iPhone 6s)?

After upgrading my iPhone 6s to iOS 15, the screen reader stopped working.

For years I've been using the screen reader to listen books in EPUB format in Apple Books app. The screen reader has automatically changed to a new page after finishing the previous one.

After iOS 15 upgrade the screen reader no longer works like that and after every page I have to start the screen reader again. This makes it impossible to listen anything longer than a few page article, because now I'm constantly just starting the screen reader again.

Is there any way to repair the screen reader so that it changes the page automatically in Apple Books and thus make it possible for not to have to restart the screen reader after every page?

Please help me, I'm heavily relying on my iPhone to supplement my very limited vision. I'm now not just visually impaired, I'm also currently barred from being able to "read" because I can't get my iPhone to read to me any longer.

Thanks for any help. I have no money pay you nor Apple to fix this, sorry.
