Time period of iCloud backup

Hello,

I need to restore my phone to a quite old backup from around the end of august, no earlier. This is due to someone else’s contacts and information being on my phone from when I accidentally synced them as I signed into iCloud on a phone with all their apps and information. When I returned to my usual phone, all of that information is now on my phone (e,g. Photos, contacts). I think I need to restore to an learner backup, so I can get rid of all of it, without deleting it for them. However the last backup I made that only had my information, was end of august, i.e. over a month ago. I am worried that if I delete all my data and choose to restore my phone to an earlier backup, that will not be an option since it was quite a long time ago!

please let me know if what I am doing is correct and if I can choose a backup from over a month ago!

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're looking to restore a backup that is around 2 months old at this point, and you have concerns whether or not it would still be available. Looking over article, What does iCloud back up?, it states that backups remain available up to 180 days if the iCloud Backup feature is disabled. It does not mention how long they are available if the feature is currently in use.

You can try following the actions from the article below on managing backups, to see if you can determine what backup dates are available to you for restoring your device. The section: Delete backups and turn off iCloud Backup for your device, will guide you on how to view backups saved in iCloud.
