I don't know whether iMovie supports GoPro 10 4k for editing. That might be something that you could ask on the GoPro support website at this link:

https://community.gopro.com/t5/en/Software-Update-Instructions-for-HERO-Cameras/ta-p/388281#

Also, here's a link that shows the formats that are compatible with iMovie:

https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT209029

In addition, iMovie supports 4K 30 fps editing and export, but not 4k 60 fps exports. iMovie does not support 2.7K exports.

I believe that 50 fps also is not supported.

So, armed with the above information you should be able to compare the iMovie specs with the GoPro 10 specs and see if the latter's available formats and resolutions will work in iMovie.

Generally, folks who have posted on here who are using GoPro Hero 9, and earlier versions, have been able to import into iMovie. The main problem complained about has been with 2.7K video for which iMovie has no export option. As mentioned, with 4k video it needs to be 4k 30 fps to work in iMovie.
