Way to have bookmark sidebar close after opening bookmark iOS?

Is this possible? It now stays open on the side when you open a bookmark in iOS on my iPad. You have to click all the way back to the original sidebar to even close it now. Super annoying!!!

There are many changes within iPadOS15 - and significant changes to Safari and its management of Bookmarks is only one of the significant changes.

You are not the first to make the observation concerning the major shortcomings of the iPadOS15 Safari Sidebar - and certainly won’t be the last. Here is just one of the many discussions about this topic:

Apple do invite constructive feedback, comments and feature requests via their product feedback pages. For iPad and iPadOS:

You found the solution as you discovered it!

A WHOLE LOT of users SUPER annoyed about this!

Apple totally changed the bookmarks panel behaviour from the MUCH easier way it USED to work, in previous iOS/iPadOS versions.

If you are as annoyed by this, seemingly extra waste of taps and time, like everyone else who posted about this is, please send Apple feedback using the link below.
