Notifications on iOS 15

iOS 15 has changed the way alerts are delivered. I have an Apple Watch 6, it seems that all of my alerts are routes to my watch when my phone is near and I do not have a sound alert on my phone. Anyone else experiencing this? I do not like this at all.

I did all of the same things too, however did get a reply from Apple with a link that said they this is how notifications are delivered with iOS 15. When connected to an Apple Watch all notifications are delivered to the watch. When the watch is on the charger and not connected to the iPhone, then notifications are delivered to the phone as usual. This very frustrating for me because it seems pointless to have specific tones for different contacts so that you know by the tone who is texting you. Apple Watch has only one tone. Don’t know about you, but I would at least like to see the ability to decide where notifications are delivered!!!

Jeff I appreciate your prompt response to my problem. However I do receive notifications on both my Apple Watch and my iPhone the thing that I am frustrated with is that the iPhone no longer wakes and makes sound like it used to before iOS 15 came out. I would hope that in the future Apple would revert back to the old way that notifications were delivered. Or at least give the option to choose how they are delivered. I understand that when my phone is locked it will not be awakened by notifications and those notifications will be sent to my Apple Watch I do not like this option it kind of defeats the purpose of having the ability to choose different sounds for different contacts because when notifications are sent to my Apple Watch it only makes one sound.

Same or similar problem here. Without any discernible pattern my 13 Pro either does or does not alert me to an incoming message. It may notify me with a message tone and the screen waking to show the incoming message, or it may do absolutely nothing. Apple Support wasn't any help. Suggested reset all settings, which is a big pain, but I tried it. Didn't fix. Next suggestion was a complete factory reset of the device - HUGE PAIN. And still didn't fix the issue. Extremely frustrating not to be alerted to incoming messages.

My problem is different then. It's not an issue of the watch receiving notifications only. It's an issue of not getting notifications whatsoever, whether I am wearing my watch or not. Messages are coming in, coming in, coming in, and my phone doesn't alert me in anyway. Neither does my watch. Then minutes later, it'll start notifying me as it should and I'll see all the missed messages. All settings are YES to notifications. It is a software problem, not a settings or feature problem. Apple = no help.
