Does it have DVD burning capabilities?

Hello; I am trying to buy my first used MAC (17" G5). I'm not sure of the operating system and I am trying a used one first just to see how I will like it as I am fed up with windows. Here's my question, the girl I am possibly buying this unit from does not know if it has dvd burning capabilities. Is there anyway she can tell by looking at the outside of the unit??? Will the drive have the dvd emblem somewhere next to the slot. Here are the specs of the unit as she has given them to me.

Here's the
exact model: iMac G5 (is that the model? Hope so!)
CPU is power PC G5 (3.0)
and serial number: W8448 *PP6

Can anyone who is an expert on MACs help with this?

Easiest way to find out requires being booted up. Open the System Profiler application, which will have a page for disk burning under the Hardware heading. That will give full details about what media can be burned.

According to the specs page at http://support.apple.com/kb/SP69, that model shipped with a combo drive (DVD-ROM/CD-RW) which won't burn DVDs. It could have had a build-to-order Super Drive installed, at least I think that is a possibility.

Specs on that particular machine from http://www.chipmunk.nl/klantenservice/applemodel.html :

Serial number: W844 **PP6
Name: iMac G5 (First model)
Group1: iMac
Group2: G5
Generation: 1
ModelCode: imac_g5
CPU speed: 1.6GHz
Screen size: 17 inch
Screen resolution: 1440x900 pixels
Memory - number of slots: 2
Factory: W8 (Shanghai China)
Model introduced: 2004
Production year: 2004
Production week: 48 (December)
Production number: 9425 (within this week)

Hope this helps.
