Video playback in Photos choppy and Lagging - Catalina

Hi all,

Mid-2012 MBP 13" running Catalina 10.15.7, 1TB SSD with 16GB RAM. Recently upgraded to an SSD and did a clean install of Catalina. After the clean install I synced my phone and imported new photos from my iPhone 12 Pro Max. Some videos from that import are choppy when you play them. The sound is perfect but the picture is not. I spot checked some older videos and the majority are the same HEVC format, imported from an iPhone XS and play fine. None of the videos prior to the 12 Pro Max are doing this.

Can anyone shed some light on why this may be?
