Tagging people in photos

How do I tag people in photos in IOS 15 if the face is not recognised? The actions have changed since the update

You can only tag the faces, that could be recognised as a face by Photos. See: Find people in Photos on iPhone - Apple Support

  • Open the photo, where the face should have been detected,
  1. Open a photo of the person you want to add, then tap  or swipe up to see the photo details.
  2. The people identified in the photo appear in the bottom-left corner of the photo. Tap the face of a person with a question mark next to their picture to identify them.
  3. Tap Tag with Name.
  4. Type their name, tap Next, then tap Done.




If you have a Mac as well, you can add faces manually, that Photos has missed, and then sync the detected faces with iCloud Photos to the iPhone.
