I don't understand the storage on this MacBook Air M1 version, like it's just 8GB and what is the 256GB SSD means? thank you

For Clarification:

  • 8GB is the RAM (Random Access Memory) - Good for simple multitasking


  • 256GB is the Storage Capacity (256 billion bytes of data). It is best to keep 40GB of that free, so that the hard drive does not fail due to full-storage.


  • SSD is the Hard Drive (Sold State Drive) (does not spin - has no moving parts).
