how can I update my HP laser jet pro MFP M176n installer to work in my Mac?

iMac 21.5″, macOS 11.5

Hi,


You could perhaps begin by resetting the printing system (see link below) and (re-)adding the printer. Check whether the operating system suggests a suitable driver.


An HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M176 (version 1.1.2) driver is mentioned in the article Printer and scanner drivers for Mac - Apple Support. The package download (Post Date: Dec 11, 2020) HP Printer Drivers v5.1 for macOS can be found at https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1888?locale=en_US . Make sure that you have backup copies of important files (documents, photos, et cetera) before carrying out any tests.

To be specific, it's important to know that updating or upgrading a Mac's operating system can disable a printer. When that happens. a newer print driver must be installed. It can be found on the HP web site. Look for printer downloads and be sure to pick a driver for your model of printer the is compliant with your computer's operating system.
